We're looking for exciting Books...

Midnight Frost Books, an imprint of Crimson Frost Books is currently open for submissions in all genres.  Our readers are fans of many kinds of books, however, they all have one thing in common. They're looking for stories that leave them wishing the last page wasn't the last page.
For details on our guidelines check out our submissions page.

Horror Stories

Do you have a story that would make your hair turn grey with fright? Does reading it make you want to leave the light on so you can see what's in the room? Then you've come to the right place. We're looking for horror stories that will stick with the reader long after they've put the book down. These stories must be truly scary, we're looking for something more than simply graphic death scenes. We want them to be written to push the reader and characters to the limit, think backwoods hauntings, demons rising, but the mood must be dark and edgy.
Word count is anywhere between 15k and 60k. Can have romantic elements, but they are not required to be the main focal point of the story.

Send your queries or submissions to submissions@midnightfrostbooks.com.

Mystery/Suspense

Got a great who-done-it? Or tales of dark and dangerous spies looking to steal the next big secret? We're looking for fast paced, well written stories of danger and discovery. These stories will draw the reader into the world of murder, of espionage, and more. Word counts between 15-60k. Please send your submission to submissions@midnightfrostbooks.com

Special Calls

Changes can be good

In today's market things change quickly. Something that is key to being successful is being aware of the changes that are happening. In the years I've been in the industry I've seen a lot of growth, a lot of change in genres, lengths of books, and even in the business aspect of the ebook industry. Change does not mean death to the industry - awareness and acceptance of such things as the e-reader has a great impact on readers and how they view what we can put out.

What does change mean for Midnight Frost? How can we utilize what's happening in the industry to ensure that our readers get the best of the best? Midnight Frost strives for quality, which is why even though we're new, we are fussy. We see the future of the industry as readers becoming more aware, wanting more from their ebooks than simply a mindless read. Therefore, change for us will mean growth and reaching a more discerning reader.

Our authors and our readers are our number one priorities. The stories our authors pen will hook the reader, thrill them, scare them, make them ask who-done-it....and this is something we want people to recognize. Getting there will mean keeping up with the changes in the industry moving from vampires to zombies, from blood and gore to spooky horror. It also means thinking outside the box and not following the idea that the reader will come to us. We're going to have to go to the reader and we're looking forward to it.

We as a publisher rely on our readers to help us understand and develop our lines and stay abreast of the changes in what you want. Midnight Frost, loves to hear from you the reader so please drop us a line here on our blog or send us an email.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT HORROR:

Do you like to be scared?  Does it thrill or excite you? Truly, tell me why?

Another question which occurs to me, is why do people like Zombies?  I want to wrap my head around understanding this.  To me, rotting flesh and all seems a bit of an odd fascination.  Perhaps its our love for the everyday dude and the Zombie is a regular Joe, turned into decaying flesh. George A. Romero called them the blue collar monster.  If you understand more about this interest in these creatures, we are taking Zombie book submissions.  I know my two boys love Zombie stuff and play killing them in video games weekly.  :)

I think we like horror, because being scared, and it not being real, is a rush.  Its an adrenaline rush, which really gets your blood pumping.  Its exciting to know the stupid potential victim is going to go outside, when she or he definitely should not.  Why do they do that?    It gets us all hyped up.  Also, its fun to scream with your friends or cozy up next to your significant other as you hide your face waiting for the villain to get you!  Again, why does the victim always go downstairs to the creepy basement?  I believe the best direction is to go into the already locked garage to get into the already locked car and bust out.  However, the bad guy is probably in the back seat of the car.

If you like to read horror stories and or like to write them, please check out Midnight Frost Books.  We want to be scared together.

Waiting to hear your comments!
